Day 53, July 7, 2014

I slept in til 10 a.m. at Mallory and Chris' place. I updated a few days if blog and went to the store. I attained two new pairs of socks and toothpaste. My previous socks were blown all but my More Heart Than Scars socks.

I arrived back in Harpers Ferry and took several hours to learn about the history here. The history was invaluable. I learned about John Brown's raid, slavery and the civil war. It was great to learn more about America's past time.

I left at 4:30 p.m. and only hiked 6.3 AT miles.

I stayed at Ed Garvey shelter and it was a nice two stories shelter. All new company at the shelter. Approximately 15 peeps.

Water was .4 down from camp. Also large nuts smacked the shelter roof!

Federal wagon. Harpers Ferry.

John Brown coulda been the initial trigger for the civil war.
