19.6 AT miles.
We were given VIP access to the bar kitchen at 9 a.m. This was one of the top experiences of my AT trips. Help yourself to anything in the kitchen but seafood and items that say do not touch. This was only like 5% of the kitchen. Clearly the owner loved AT thru hikers.
We got down in the kitchen and Yukon tore it up. We had breakfast burritos with bacon, eggs, jalapeƱos, onions, garlic, etc. We also sliced oranges and made pancakes. Delicious.
We got a ride back to the trail head by a nice older gentleman. Our pace was 3-4 mph over pounding rocks. We saw a black and yellow timber. That's a pretty rare day. Both were sun bathing and asleep. The black timber did not like it when Yukon awoke him from his nap. He attacked the stick.
We arrived to The Church of the Mountain Hikers Center. Sugh had left five Italian subs cut about 6 inches long. I ate them all and gave a cookie away. I also had 2 yuenglings. She took care of the other hikers as well.
I arrived later after taking a two hour nap at Kirkridge Shelter. This called for 30 minutes of solo night hiking. I killed it and this was my first time soloing night hiking. Sugh was another nice connect that Yukon had made.
Beer Stein. Grateful to be able to have all access kitchen privileges. Everything is okay to use except for seafood.
