Hung out with Nomad for awhile this morning. It was nice to have good company as I waited for the rain to pass. Joe and Cathrine left at 9:55 a.m. I stayed an extra hour and had philosophical conversations with Nomad.
I began my hike around 11 a.m. I hiked in a light rain for about an hour and a half. I used my gators thank you Katie. They definitely kept my feet and socks dry. My super mica jacket kept my core dry and my pack cover kept my pack dry. I took a picture of the Canadian family and they seemed to have a tough day. It seems the more you have in your group the more that could go wrong. They were continuing to stay positive. The trail isn't easy and they were overcoming that obstacle! We decided to stay at chestnut knob shelter and they continued on. 9.1 AT miles hiked and only 1.4 miles short of 100 total AT miles.
The shelter was nice and the company was great. Thunderstorms rolled in and we settled down at Beartown Wilderness.
Body feels really good and my hiker legs are continuing to develop. We had 3G service here! However, we have to conserve our batteries!! 34% left.

Waited about 10 minutes for the rain to stop. Was ready to fish but moved on because the rain was not letting up.
