Day 10 May 25, 2014

Pack was full and hiking was tough the first two miles. We completed 14.7 miles on the AT our longest day! I feel like my trail legs are developing.

We ran into two individuals in their 60's +/- hiking to Canada. One taught us about the plant sassafras and the other had hiked the 7 tallest mountains on all 7 continents. Awesome and extremely intelligent guys.

We had lunch at Chatfield Memorial Shelter. Roman, quinoa, almond butter and honey. There was a Canadian family at the shelter thru hiking and making a documentary. The mother was nursing her sick daughter. Their kids encompassed a  young boy at age 13, and girls 11 and 15. What a unique family experience they will experience!

Afterwards we came up to Lindamood School 1894. They had a hiker box and cold bottles of water. We finally scored q tips which we had been wanting from the start. I got some quart bags and comb for my beard. Left a donation and tagged the chalk board. IHOP MHTS. It also said teachers were awesome and I second that!

We got water from blue water hollow a nice spring. We made it to camp and met up with Dennis Nick's cousin.

Bed at 10:30 a.m. and will wake up tomorrow and do it all over again :). Life is good!

Body is feeling great!
