Day 11 May 26, 2014

Left camp at 9:40 a.m. feeling wonderful.  Evidently Nick and I stepped over a ring snake? It was brown with a yellow belly and a tiny ring behind its head. The feet started feeling the 14.7 miles the day before around 5 miles in. We stopped for a quick lunch and a man came down the hill asking if we saw the timber rattler up the hill. We said no and some other guys came down and showed us the picture. It was about 3.5 ft long and about five years old according to its rattles. Whew! I am glad I saw the picture instead of the real deal!

Trail magic was lime soda and homemade cookies. We were chasing hot dogs and hamburgers where Dennis parked his car. Unfortunately, it looked liked they had already had the cook out. Trail Magic will most definitely get you moving!

Got to Dennis' car and took a break with only two miles to go. Dennis shared gatorades and waters with us out of his car. He also manages Zee corp which is a medical supplier. I scooped up hydrocortisone and clot form powder. Joe played the harmonica under the picnic shelter. Dennis and Nick departed. Ima miss their company!

Hiked another two miles and we did 10.7 AT miles. We arrived at Knot "darth" Mall Shelter.  Excellent company and fire. We cooked on the mounted grill. Whole package of rice and tomato with pepperoni mmmm. Almond butter and fresh blackberry preserves. A thru hiker got tired of carrying the quart mason jar.

9 pm bed time.

Dennis, Catherine, Joe and Nick.

Trail Magic. Lol Catherine.
