Departed Homers and Teresa Witcher's residence. Gator left @ 8 and I slept in a little and updated my blog. Ima miss Homer and Teresa. They are the phenomenal people you like to spend moments of your life with!! If not every moment. Homer is my role model. Still at 72 years old he can run 4 miles on the AT in 34 minutes. You rock!
I hiked 8.7 miles to Pickle Branch Shelter. It rained a little while I was at the Audie Memorial. I loved the memorial and saluted Audie on the way out. I can't wait to research this military hero further! Saw a 5ft rat snake as I came into the shelter. Today was the first day I found a tick at camp. It was crawling on my right shin.
Two zeroes really made today difficult to hike.
